SHOW AND TELL
Show and Tell will be on Monday of each week.
Bringing something to show or tell about helps the child develop their
ability to speak in a group along with other skills. Please, however,
screen what they bring (variety of things rather than repeating the same
object each time). Children can also tell of a trip or other experience.
It is not necessary for a child to take part every time. No weapons,
cosmetics or makeup please. Limit to one item per day. Mondays should be
the only day that the children bring extra items (other than lunchbox)
to school. It is also helpful for your child to bring items related to
our curriculum (i.e. dinosaurs during dinosaur week).

BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS
Each month we will send home a Book Club flier
allowing you to purchase age-appropriate books at reasonable prices, to
encourage reading in your homes. The school receives profits in books
(not cash) to build its own library for preschool use. Reading to your
preschooler is very important to your child’s development. Books will be
a valued part of our school day. Please continue reading at home.

CHAPEL
Each Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. the children are
taken into the church for chapel service. The service runs 20 to 30
minutes. Parents are invited to come to chapel service. We ask that you
sit in the 5th pew or any pew behind that, not farther
forward. Pastor Breznen officiates once each school month. You will need
to sit in the back if you bring babies or toddlers. Our preschoolers
need to be able to hear our service without distractions.

MUSIC
We love to sing at preschool. Each day we use the
piano and many other instruments. Twice each year you are invited to our
school programs where the preschoolers enjoy singing and performing for
you.

SNACK
Each morning we have snack time at school. Please
keep the snack ‘to a snack’ not a lunch. A piece of fruit or cookies and
drink are more than enough. A whole sandwich is too much. If you do send
a half of sandwich and drink, please do not send fruit and cookies also.
Also, please do not send marshmallows, squeeze yogurts, peanuts, candy,
soda or extremely messy foods.

BIRTHDAYS AND HOLIDAYS
If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday
in school, please make arrangements with the teacher ahead of time. The
Board of Health will not permit us to serve home baked goods. Any foods
you bring must be accompanied with a sales slip, which you must sign and
we must keep on file. We also celebrate most of the holidays during the
school year. If you’d like to contribute to our many holiday parties,
please let the teacher know.
In consideration of the children’s feelings –
Birthday Party Invitations will not be distributed at school (unless the
whole school is invited). We will provide you with an address list of
the students.
